We are delighted to invite our buyer members to our Discover Wales event. In partnership with Southern Wales TourismThe Royal Mint and  GWRVisit Wales is delighted to announce Discover Wales / Darganfod Cymru 2023!

Upon arrival on 8 October, buyers will take part in a two day familiarisation visit in South East Wales to experience some of the highlights of this beautiful part of Wales, and get a taste of the travel trade friendly product on offer. With a focus on Wales by Trails in 2023/24, discover how your itineraries could develop to include Wales’s award-winning adventure product, outstanding landscapes and unique heritage and culture.

A networking event will be held on 9 October for UKinbound buyers and Wales suppliers, followed by a half-day B2B workshop on 10 October where buyers and suppliers will take part in a series of pre-scheduled, one-to-one meetings. A networking lunch will provide further opportunity to connect with Wales suppliers.

PROGRAMME:*

8 October:

The GWR train will depart London Paddington for arrival into Newport to stop at  the Newport Transporter Bridge, one of only 6 operational transporter bridges in the world, which is currently undergoing a major renovation including the creation of a new visitor centre – due to open 2024. You’ll continue to Llancaiach Fawr Manor – a Tudor Manor House where you travel back in time to 1645 and on to Nantgarw China works and Museum. Overnight will be near Bridgend.

9 October:

The first stop is Ogmore Castle and the ancient steppingstones. The tour will continue along the glorious Glamorgan Heritage Coastline and arrive in  the market town of Cowbridge. The tour will continue to   A Welsh Coal Mining Experience/Rhondda Heritage Park where you’ll discover the story of Black Gold, before visiting St Fagans National Museum of History, one of the 7 National Museums in Wales.  The visit will end in Cardiff, to include a tour of Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Castle.

10 October:

UKinbound will run a half-day workshop offering pre-scheduled B2B meetings, and a networking lunch which will provide the opportunity to develop business relationships with Wales based suppliers.

Cancellations must be received in writing on or before Friday 1 September 2023 by 16:30. In the case of non-attendance on the day or cancellation after the above date, a £50+VAT charge will be applied.
