Anderson Tours are looking to recruit a sales & marketing manager for their scheduled day trips and weekend breaks. Anderson Tours are looking for a candidate who will maximise revenue through managing existing agent relationships as well as finding new avenues for increased sales. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter who is happy to work independently, while also being a team-player and happy to get involved in other aspects of the daily operations of the business as needed.

Key responsibilities include:

-Identifying and developing new business opportunities

-Managing agents’ accounts: setting up new agents, answering queries, conducting training on use of our website, sending out weekly posters, tracking commission, using third party websites/extranets

-Liaising with internal accounts, operations, coach hire, and private groups teams within Anderson Tours & Anderson Travel to set up agents, monitor commission and deal with agents’ large, private group tours as necessary

-Negotiating new sales agreements including rates, commission and other Ts & Cs

-Identifying and responding to new advertising opportunities

-Creating the yearly brochures in discussion with other members of the team

-Attending industry networking and other events to represent Anderson Tours, find new sales leads and build relationships

-Answering incoming phone calls

-Answering the Anderson Tours emergency mobile outside of office hours for 1 week at a time around once every 6 weeks (done on a rota system)

-Occasionally assisting customers that come in to the office to book on to scheduled tours

-Completing ad-hoc tasks for other departments as and when necessary


The successful candidate will:

– Possess sales experience with proven track record for growth

– Have experience in negotiating and drafting detailed contracts with agents

-Possess excellent people skills

-Have high attention to detail

-Be flexible regarding workload and working hours

-Possess accuracy and numeracy skills

-Be fluent in English

-Have strong self motivation and organisational skills

-Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

-Be fluent in other languages (beneficial but not compulsory)

-Have experience and contacts in the UK travel industry (beneficial but not compulsory)

-Have experience with InDesign or similar (beneficial but not compulsory)

-Have expertise in social media including Facebook ad campaigns and Instagram for brand-building and increased sales (beneficial but not compulsory)

-Have marketing experience or education (beneficial but not compulsory)
