Camera Obscura & World of Illusions extends opening hours

Camera Obscura & World of Illusions has announced extended opening hours for the busy summer period. With increased demand, the team has lengthened daily opening times to ensure everyone has the chance to visit.

From 28 June to 18 July, the attraction will open daily from 9.00am to 10.00pm. Then from 19 July to 11 August, opening hours will begin even earlier at 8.00am, with doors staying open until 10.00pm every day.

Situated just steps from Edinburgh Castle, Camera Obscura & World of Illusions offers five floors of illusions, light tricks and interactive exhibits. Visitors can swap noses, stretch and shrink their reflections, get lost in the Mirror Maze and enjoy a trip through the Vortex Tunnel. There is also a Rooftop Terrace, where guests can enjoy stunning 360-degree views of the city, whatever the weather.

The extended opening hours also apply to group visits. Whether it’s a school trip, a special interest tour or a travel company itinerary, Camera Obscura continues to welcome groups with tailored visit times and booking support. Availability can be checked via the online group bookings calendar, or by speaking directly with Amy Bell, Group Bookings Coordinator.

Andrew Johnson, General Manager, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome even more visitors this summer, and our extended hours are designed to make it easier than ever to experience the fun. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifth, there’s always something new to discover in our world of illusions.”
