Best of Scotland Holidays have announced their recent Green Tourism Bronze Award. Having joined the scheme last year the team have been working hard to review and enhance their business practices, embracing a more sustainable and responsible approach across operations.
As a family run business with a locally based team of eight, many existing efforts already aligned with the principles of a responsible DMC, all while helping visiting clients be responsible tourists. From the outset, as many small local operators and suppliers as possible were included in Best of Scotland Holidays itineraries. Now with the increased number of options in almost every location, the team at Best of Scotland Holidays gives visitors the chance to experience a real sense of culture, history and people.
Green Tourism has been providing sustainability certification for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry for almost 30 years, helping to embed responsible, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices across businesses in the sector.
Sales and Marketing Director, Kirsten Laing, said, “Having this formal accreditation and achieving Bronze on our first submission was a fantastic milestone, especially given the programme is primarily designed for venues and attractions. Adapting the criteria to fit a DMC model required creative thinking and we were delighted this was recognised. We are already looking ahead to the next phase of business practices, continuing on our sustainable path.”
