The Royal Pavilion hosts A Very Austen Christmas

This festive season, the Royal Pavilion is celebrating 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen, with A Very Austen Christmas.

Brighton and Hove Museums is inviting guests to imagine Jane arriving for a grand ball beneath sparkling chandeliers, the Pavilion alive with themed trees, the rustle of silk gowns, and the scents of spiced punch and evergreen garlands. Visitors can explore enchanting interactives, try on Regency finery, and meet beloved characters from Austen’s novels as the Royal Pavilion is transformed into a storybook Christmas wonderland. Younger visitors can join our delightful Pug for a playful journey through Jane’s life and characters.

Throughout the season, guests can enjoy a special Austen Christmas Cream Tea, and literary enthusiasts are invited to a conversation event with Regency experts Zac Pinsent and Dr Hilary Burlock. Father Christmas will be in residence and the grandeur of Christmas Banquets will bring dining in the spirit of George IV to life. The Music Room will feature local choirs singing carols, creating a truly festive atmosphere.
