Lomond Leisure Group announces new pub opening

The Parliament Arms Scottish Pub & Kitchen, part of Lomond Leisure Group, officially opened its doors on the historic Canongate on the Royal Mile. Previously known as The Kilderkin, the venue has undergone an extensive £170,000 refurbishment, transforming the site into a vibrant Scottish pub, celebrating the very best of Scotland’s food, drink, and hospitality.

Located on one of Edinburgh’s oldest streets, The Parliament Arms offers locals and visitors alike an authentic Scottish pub experience. The venue features a drinks selection with a strong focus on whisky and ales, alongside a carefully curated menu, showcasing high-quality Scottish produce.

One of the standout features of the venue is the Loch Lomond Whisky Snugs, cosy and intimate seating areas designed to accommodate groups of up to eight people. These spaces are ideal for whisky tastings, social gatherings, and special occasions.

In addition to the whisky snugs, The Parliament Arms also features a spacious main dining area and a semi-private space perfect for parties, group bookings, and private events. The venue will also host regular comedy nights in partnership with Good Egg Comedy, bringing live entertainment to the heart of the Royal Mile.

Derek Mallon, Managing Director at Lomond Leisure Group, said, “Following an extensive refurbishment, we’re incredibly proud to open the doors of The Parliament Arms Scottish Pub & Kitchen on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Our vision has always been to bring a true taste of Scotland to both locals and visitors alike. From the carefully restored exterior to the handcrafted interiors, from our striking back bar to the cosy whisky snugs, every detail has been designed to celebrate Scottish heritage and hospitality. With a menu showcasing Scottish produce, an excellent drinks selection, and spaces designed for tastings, gatherings, parties, and events, we can’t wait to welcome everyone in and share what we’ve created.”

Matthew Dyson, Star Pubs Operations Director for Scotland, said, “We’re delighted to have worked with Lomond Leisure Group to bring such a well-known Edinburgh pub back to life. The Parliament Arms is looking fantastic and is a great addition to all the Royal Mile has to offer. Its food, drink and entertainment showcase the best of Scottish hospitality, making them ideal for such an iconic location.”
