Caledonian Sleeper introduces new stop at Birmingham International

The Caledonian Sleeper has introduced a new stop at Birmingham International as part of its overnight service between Scotland and London Euston. This timetable update marks the most substantial change to the service in over 30 years and aims to strengthen connectivity between Scotland and the West Midlands.

The addition of Birmingham International provides greater accessibility for both leisure and business travellers. Arriving early in the morning, passengers can begin their visit to the region, with easy access to Birmingham’s city centre, known for its world-class shopping, diverse cultural attractions and food and drink scene. The service also opens up convenient onward travel to key destinations across the region, including Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle and the wider West Midlands.

In addition, the new stop offers direct access to major transport and business hubs such as Birmingham Airport and the National Exhibition Centre, making it an attractive option for international visitors and corporate travellers. The overnight nature of the journey allows passengers to maximise their time, arriving refreshed and ready to explore or attend business engagements.

The enhancement reflects a growing demand for more sustainable and convenient travel options, with rail continuing to play a key role in supporting the UK’s connectivity and tourism growth. By linking Scotland more directly with the West Midlands, the Caledonian Sleeper further strengthens the region’s position as a well-connected and accessible destination for domestic and international visitors alike.
