Raby Castle, Park & Gardens has announced the return of its dog show event on Sunday 27 September, from 10am to 4pm.
Set against the backdrop of Raby Castle, the annual celebration of canine companions offers a day out for dogs and their owners alike. Early bird tickets are available now at discounted prices when booked online in advance. There’s activities throughout the day, including the Fun Dog Show, where owners can enter their pups on the day in a range of humorous categories, including ‘Most Like Their Owner’ and ‘Coolest Canine’.
Guests can also join interactive, hands-on sessions with dog training experts, picking up top tips and tricks and giving them a try under the guidance of professionals, then pay a visit to Pawtrait Art Studio, a pet portrait artist who specialises in live illustrations and hand-painted art of beloved pets, to create a special keepsake from the day.
There are canine hoopers and Good Citizen demonstrations by the Newton Aycliffe Dog Training Club, and Nordic Dogs is running gundog scurries, hurdles and a lure. There are also opportunities to treat all dogs, with a carefully hand-picked selection of traders offering gourmet dog treats, toys, leads and the best in rugged outdoor gear. Visitors can browse the stalls, chat to traders and get a head start on finding Christmas gifts for their canine companions.
