East of England and Broads National Park Discover Workshop

We are delighted to invite out buyer members to our upcoming East of England and Broads National Park Discover Workshop event hosted by Visit East of England and Broads National Park.

Discover the East of England, home of big skies and even bigger sunsets, medieval cities, breath taking cathedrals, and picturesque historic towns left untouched by the industrial revolution.  With over 500-miles of stunning coastline, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Broads National Park protecting diverse wildlife and important cultural heritage, there is far more to the East of England than you have probably ever imagined.

Your discovery will start in Norwich, the City of Stories, and take you to The Broads National Park, up to the stunning North Norfolk Coast and then back through the Brecklands, the lowest lying forest in England to Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, the resting place of King Edmund, before heading to Newmarket, the home of horse racing and a former Royal playground.  You will see the diversity of the landscapes, have experiences both on land and water and find out about more about this unexplored region of the UK.

During the event, UKinbound will run a half-day workshop offering pre-scheduled B2B meetings, and a networking lunch which will provide the opportunity to develop business relationships with local suppliers.

Itinerary: **

Day 1 – Arriving on Greater Anglia from London Liverpool Street, delegates will be met by coach at Norwich rail station and driven to The Broads National Park where they will be able to take part in a selection of water-based or land-based experiences that showcase the diverse waterways, nature, and landscapes in the East of England.

Back then to Norwich to check in to the Maids Head Hotel, an AA 4 Star Silver Hotel, known to be the oldest hotel in the UK.  Then enjoy a walk around the historic city with Paul Dickson Tours and Cheryl Cade, a Beer and Cheese educator, who will introduce the history, heritage and cultural gems along a local ‘foodie’ tour and supper at The Briton Arms Pub.

Day 2 – The tour heads to Royal Norfolk country and a visit to Holkham Hall, with its stunning coastal landscape, magnificent stately home and rolling parkland. The trip then heads down through the Brecklands, home of England’s lowest forest to experience some English Whisky, then on to Bury St Edmunds, the resting place of the Patron Saints of England, St Edmund, the martyred first King of England.  Here delegates will see the ancient abbey, cathedral and find out more about this medieval town, its connections to Charles Dickens and why it’s fast becoming the ‘foodie’ capital of Suffolk.

It is then back to Newmarket, the home of British horseracing and home to over 3000 horses for the evening where you will be staying at the Bedford Lodge Hotel.  This four AA red star hotel is nestled in three acres of manicured gardens in Newmarket, where there will be an informal and relaxing dinner.

Day 3 – An early riser tour will showcase the horses on the famous Newmarket Gallops, horses and foals at the National Stud and the world-famous Jockey Club rooms.  Guests will then head back to for breakfast and to start the B2B meetings.
