MAR HALL appoints new Resort Director

Mar Hall Golf and Spa Resort in Glasgow has announced the appointment of Andy Roger as Resort  Director. Andy will oversee the resort’s reopening this spring, following a £20 million refurbishment. With decades of experience in relaunching, repositioning, and leading heritage hotels and resorts, Andy will lead Mar Hall into its next chapter.

Commenting on his appointment, Andy said, “I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter with Mar Hall. Returning to a more intimate resort setting is a welcome shift – it takes me back to my earlier roles focused on genuine, personal connections with both the team and our guests. Mar Hall has incredible advantages as a 240-acre country estate close to Glasgow and as a gateway to the Highlands, and I’m looking forward to being part of its evolution as we expand over the coming years.”

Originally from Glasgow, Andy brings a wealth of experience in leading resorts and city hotels. He has a track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams, driving operational excellence and embedding cultures based on merit, motivation and service innovation.

Alongside his leadership in hospitality is involved with several organisations, including HIT Scotland, Apprenticeships in Hospitality Scotland and the Maggie’s Cancer Care Glasgow Fundraising Board, where he has served for over seven years. His longstanding commitment to giving back reflects a genuine dedication to the Scottish community.

Andy’s appointment marks a new chapter for Mar Hall, as the resort emerges from a multi-million-pound refurbishment across all areas. Andy will play a pivotal role in shaping Mar Hall’s programming and supporting the future phases of its growth, including the forthcoming development of a new Clubhouse, Spa and 48 woodland lodges.
