City Cruises York has announced its participation in York’s Dead Good Festival, taking place from 7 to 18 May 2025. The festival, in support of Dying Matters, aims to encourage open conversations about dying, death, and bereavement within the community.
Recognising the societal discomfort surrounding end-of-life discussions, York’s Dead Good Festival provides a supportive and engaging platform for individuals to explore these important topics. The festival will feature a diverse range of events, including performances, informative talks, crafts, and discussions, many of which are free to attend.
As part of this vital initiative, City Cruises York will host a unique and peaceful event on the River Ouse on 16 May 2025.
Attendees will have the chance to discover how the serene environment of the River Ouse can provide a meaningful backdrop for scattering ashes, holding a memorial service, or hosting a wake. The City Cruises York team will be on hand to provide information and answer questions in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
Ryan Christopher Coombs, Charter Sales Coordinator at City Cruises said, “We are honoured to be a part of York’s Dead Good Festival. We understand that thinking about end-of-life arrangements can be difficult, but we believe that offering a peaceful and unique setting like the River Ouse can provide comfort and clarity when exploring these options. We look forward to welcoming attendees and providing information in a supportive environment.”
Tickets for this event are limited to forty and can be booked here. For more information on City Cruises Private Hire options, please visit their website and for more information on the Dead Good Festival visit www.yorksdeadgoodfestival.co.uk.
