On 16 July the Cutty Sark in Greenwich has welcomed its two millionth visitor since its re-opening in April 2012.

Courtney Bishop, visiting with her husband Cole, were met by the ship’s General Manager Arron Hewitt, alongside one of Cutty Sark’s board character actors, Captain Woodget, and presented with a year’s membership to Royal Museums Greenwich. Courtney was also presented with a special 150th anniversary edition of the book Cutty Sark: The Last of the Tea Clippers.

Courtney said, “What are the chances of walking through the door and becoming the two millionth visitor! This is an experience we will tell all of our friends and family about when we get home and has been the icing on the cake for a wonderful visit to London and Greenwich.”

General Manager Arron Hewitt said, “Welcoming our two millionth guest today is a huge achievement for our team. I would like to thank every single one of them for their hard work and dedication to making sure all of our visitors have a positive experience when visiting the Cutty Sark. We hope Courtney and Cole enjoy their year’s membership and we look forward to welcoming them back soon.”

The two millionth visitor landmark took place as Cutty Sark celebrates another major milestone. 2019 marks the 150th anniversary of the famous tea clipper, with celebratory events taking place throughout the year.
