b2me Tourism Marketing celebrates 20th anniversary

b2me Tourism Marketing has celebrated its 20th anniversary in June with news of two major client wins.

NewcastleGateshead Initiative has appointed b2me as its travel trade engagement partner to support the local and wider destination partners and stakeholders with a deeper understanding of how to work more effectively with the travel trade.

As the first Destination Development Partnership in England, the region will be working alongside Visit Northumberland and Visit County Durham with an aim to develop the region as a must-visit destination whilst attracting private investment and driving growth.

The pilot will act as a potential blueprint for the rest of England, and will help shape the future landscape of destination management organisations, delivering local economic growth through the visitor economy across all seven local authorities.

b2me has also been appointed by Arival Marketing to run the training for GetConnected on behalf of VisitScotland over the summer, supporting the process of connected distribution for Scotland’s tourism businesses.

Celebrating 20 years since b2me was launched back in 2003, Managing Director Mike Newman continues to support a wide array of destinations, launching its first DMO integration of Travel Trade Ready with Visit West, in May 2023 and running workshops on travel trade engagement as part of UKinbound’s Discover Programme for Visit Kent, Visit East of England and Visit Wales.

Combining both traditional travel industry engagement with digital transformation for SMEs, Mike is also lead consultant on connected distribution for Failte Ireland’s Digital That Delivers project.
