Belvoir Castle is set to welcome visitors to a Christmas experience inspired by the traditional festive celebrations and early group bookings are available now.
Running throughout November and December, the Christmas calendar of events at Belvoir Castle, follows the success of last year’s Christmas celebrations, which saw thousands of visitors marvel at the castle’s decorations and festive atmosphere.
This year’s theme, Decking the Halls, will transform the historic castle, which is above the Vale of Belvoir, into a celebration of classic Christmas grandeur and opulence. Each State Room will be styled and decorated with different Christmas carols. Live musical performances from choirs and musicians will take place in the entrance to welcome visitors throughout the season.
Visitors will have the chance to enjoy a Christmas Afternoon Tea featuring festive sandwiches and sweet treats in the Castle’s aviary tearoom. Belvoir Castle has a very special connection to Afternoon Tea. In the 19th century, the Duchess of Bedfordshire visited Belvoir Castle and requested a light meal in the afternoon, starting the English tradition.
A gingerbread Belvoir Castle will also be on display. Created by award-winning cake and sugar artist, Michelle Walters, the four-foot-wide confectionery replica was first unveiled last Christmas and will return with new features capturing Christmas at the Castle.
Beyond the castle, the Retail Village will host a variety of seasonal events and workshops, alongside the return of the famous reindeer. Home to a carefully curated collection of boutique shops and restaurants, the village offers the perfect opportunity to discover thoughtful Christmas gifts and festive treats.
The Belvoir Farm Shop will also be stocked with an array of Christmas goodies and luxury hampers, featuring produce grown and sourced from across the Belvoir Estate, including Belvoir Wine and Rare Breed meats, perfect for those special festive meals with the family.
Tickets for group bookings start from £24pp with many bespoke options available. To enquire, please email the team here.
