Warwick Castle

With a packed programme of family friendly activities throughout the year, Enora Le-Goff, Merlin Entertainments shares her top picks for making the most of your visit to Warwick Castle:

Experience the fun of real history

Full to the turrets with dazzling shows and attractions, spellbinding story-telling and fun experiences all year-round, Warwick Castle is an action-packed and unforgettable family short break…

Witness The Mighty Trebuchet, the largest working catapult in the world, launch a cannonball 150ft into the air (on selected dates from February Half Term) and The Bowman Show will leave you gawping in awe as you admire the skill and agility of the Castle’s resident Archer (on selected dates from 30th March).

Don’t miss the spectacular Flight of the Eagles Show (twice daily) featuring an impressive collection of eagles, buzzards and vultures and look out for Rosie, the UK’s one and only free-flying Andean Condor! With a wingspan of over 10ft you will be in awe as you see her take to the skies.

Knight for a day

HUZZAH! Choose your side as Wars of the Roses Live returns on selected dates from May. Charging back into action with all new stunts and tricks, this critically acclaimed live action family show spectacularly brings to life the epic battle for the English throne and features ferocious horseback battles, astounding stunt riding, and swashbuckling sword fighting.

Why not plan your own invasion to Warwick Castle this year? Explore the Medieval Towers & Battlements, try your hand at archery and marvel at the lavish interiors of the magnificent house – there really is something for everyone!

A taste of medieval life

This is a place where the fun never stops and imagination knows no bounds – little princesses can help to solve an ancient riddle in the enchanted Princess Tower, whilst all guests can journey back to 1471 in The Kingmaker and experience the sights, sounds and smells of medieval England.

If you’re feeling brave enough, pay a trip to The Castle Dungeon*; this exciting walkthrough attraction presents live actors in scarily funny shows that will send chills down your spine! Not recommended for under 10s or those of a nervous disposition – it’s that scary!

Get lost in time!

Children of all ages can experience the foulest and funniest bits of history brought to life by the UK’s first Horrible Histories® Maze!

Watch your little one’s faces light up as they explore this exciting attraction; full of foul facts and fun games! This is a maze with a difference; the aim is not to reach the centre, but to reorder the muddle that mischievous Rattus Rattus has made of time, and find the way out!
