Cotswolds Tourism warns coach parking must be pre-booked

Cotswold Tourism has announced that coach operaotrs visiting Bourton-on-the-Water will need to pre-book their parking prior to arrival. Should the operator require to stay for the whole afternoon from 1pm – 5pm, they will need to book two slots to cover more than two hours.

Cotswolds Tourism suggests that if the operator’s 2023 itinerary includes a visit to Bourton on the Water, then a parking bay should be secured as soon as possible. There is now ANPR in operation to ensure use of the coach parking bays only by operators that have pre-booked. There is no other provision in the village for coach parking or drop off and pick up of passengers.

Many of the rural roads around the Cotswolds are not suitable for coaches, and all coaches must enter and exit via Station Road, and be parked in the allocated parking zone.

The Station Road car park will continue to welcome all mini buses (16 seats and under) and motorhomes without the requirement for pre-booking.

Negotiations have allowed coach parking to remain on the same site in Station Road (GL54 2EN) for 2023, providing a booking system is in place. A working group involving the Parish Council and Bourton Business Network has been set up to consider any viable long term coach parking alternatives.
