Dalata Hotel Group opens first hotel in Brighton

Dalata Hotel Group has created 65 new jobs with the opening of a 226-guestroom hotel on Brighton’s iconic waterfront.

The 4-star Maldron Hotel Brighton is the group’s first hotel on the south coast, located just three-minutes walk from Brighton Centre, 13-minutes walk from the train station and just 25 minutes from Gatwick airport by car.

The new hotel is Dalata Group’s 56th hotel and is one of four new hotels opening this year across the UK. Guestrooms feature rainfall showers, modern wooden floors and air-conditioning, and the hotel also offers a bar, the brand’s Grain & Grill restaurant, a Red Bean Roastery coffee dock serving barista prepared coffee, an onsite gym, and five meeting rooms.

Developed by the Topland Group and built by Cfield Construction, the hotel has obtained sustainability certification that places it in the top 10% of new non-domestic buildings in the UK for best practice when it comes to its environmental performance, with a BREEAM Excellent rating.

Dalata Hotel Group CEO, Dermot Crowley said, “We are excited to open Maldron Hotel Brighton, our first Dalata hotel in the city. As a prime tourist destination with a vibrant cultural scene that attracts millions of visitors annually, Brighton is an ideal location for Dalata. The city is also experiencing growing business demand and is recognised nationally and internationally as a leading conference centre, supported by its close proximity to London. I want to express my gratitude to our development partners and our local team for their hard work behind the scenes in preparing the hotel to welcome guests for the summer months.”

Maldron Hotel Brighton General Manager, John Devine said “We are proud to be opening a new Maldron Hotel in this great city in the heart of Sussex. With a dedicated meeting and events floor encompassing five meeting rooms equipped with Clevertouch technology, and with the hotel being located just 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport, we are an excellent choice for business and for corporate guests. Brighton has always been a magnet for visitors seeking fun and fresh sea air and the new Maldron Hotel Brighton has all of the city’s best attractions right on its doorstep.”

As part of the company’s ambitious UK growth strategy, Dalata Hotel Group is set to open another new hotel in Shoreditch in South Central London. This comes after the opening of Maldron Hotel Liverpool and Maldron Hotel Cathedral Quarter in Manchester within the past two months.
