Dynamic Earth, located at the foot of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, is Scotland’s Earth science engagement charity and home to the city’s only Science Centre and Planetarium.
Visitors can explore 12 interactive galleries that follow Earth’s history, from the Big Bang through to the tectonic forces that continue to transform the planet. Exhibits include simulations of natural phenomena such as earthquakes and glaciers, the chance to touch an iceberg, and immersive journeys into space within the 6K Planetarium.
The organisation has achieved the Green Tourism Gold Award in recognition of its commitment to sustainability. This includes sourcing seasonal, locally produced food, working with responsible suppliers, and operating on 100% renewable electricity.
Dynamic Earth operates as a charity, with all visits helping to support education and engagement programmes that aim to encourage people of all ages to learn more about science and the environment. Every trip directly supports our learning and engagement programmes, inspiring the next generation of planet protectors.
Suzie Holligan, Director of Visitor Experience and Events, said, “At Dynamic Earth, we bring the story of our planet to life in ways that spark curiosity and wonder. Every visit contributes to our mission to inspire people of all ages to care for our shared environment.”
Tailored group Eeperiences are available and can be designed to meet the specific needs of a group. Experiences can include private access to the galleries, a show in the Planetarium led by an expert in-house presenter and exclusive catering options.
