Edinburgh Executive Travel (EET) has achieved a Silver award from Green Tourism, the world’s leading sustainability certification programme. This recognition reflects EET’s ongoing commitment to responsible, ethical, and sustainable practices across all business areas.
The Green Tourism award is a mark of independently verified excellence based on 15 sustainability criteria grouped under the People, Places, and Planet pillars. These criteria cover environmental, social, and economic sustainability, offering a holistic view of an organisation’s practices and impact.
James Ritchie, Founder and Managing Director of EET said, “We’re delighted to have received Silver accreditation. It’s a strong endorsement of our commitment to improving our sustainability practices, supporting our community, and creating an inclusive and accessible environment for both visitors and staff.”
EET’s sustainability assessment highlights include a 100% achievement in the health and wellbeing category and 90% scores in equality, diversity, and experiences.
Green Tourism awards are given at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, with approximately one-third of participating tourism and hospitality businesses achieving each level. A Silver award indicates that a business demonstrates good practice across all three pillars and has a robust action plan to reach best-practice standards.
EET’s most recent assessment took place on 11 April 2025, and the company has already begun working toward further improvements ahead of its subsequent scheduled evaluation in April 2026.
James Ritchie added, “Our journey doesn’t end here. We’re committed to continuous improvement and aim to build on this success as we work toward achieving Gold status next year.”
