Highland Experience Tours partners with Blackness Bay Distillery

Highland Experience Tours has announced a new partnership with Blackness Bay Distillery, a family-owned micro-distillery located in the historic coastal village of Blackness, West Lothian. The collaboration brings a fresh experience to the day tours portfolio, connecting international visitors with an authentic whisky and rum producer. The new tour, featuring Loch Lomond, The Kelpies, and Blackness Bay Distillery, offers travellers the chance to step beyond the usual whisky trail and experience small-scale Scottish distilling.

Blackness Bay Distillery has a scenic setting on the Firth of Forth, and a commitment to traditional methods and local sourcing. Operated by a passionate team of distillers, blenders and bottlers, it’s one of the few distilleries in Scotland to be fully licensed as a Bonder, Distiller, Blender, Rectifier and Wholesaler, all under one roof. The distillery shares its space with The Lobster Pot, a characterful pub and restaurant that completes the visitor experience, making it an ideal fit for day tours.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to responsible tourism and economic development outside the main cities. With increasing interest in authentic, hands-on experiences among visitors to Scotland, the tour has been designed to connect travellers with the people, stories and independent producers that shape the country’s modern identity.

Launching in time for the summer 2025 season, the new itinerary includes:

  • Scenic drive through Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
  • A photo stop at The Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures
  • A guided visit and tasting at Blackness Bay Distillery
  • Time at leisure at The Lobster Pot for refreshments
  • Return to Edinburgh via the scenic coastal route
