Whipsnade Zoo announce Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo returns to Whipsnade Zoo for October half term, with spooky stories, ghostly rides, creepy crafts, and opportunities to dress up.

Visitors who attend the UK’s largest zoo can enjoy Whipsnade’s creepy past on a Ghastly Ghost Tour, climb aboard the Spooky Railway to spot bats, or settle down for Halloween Storytime sessions, while the Wildlife Graveyard and daily Science Shows will reveal surprising facts about how animals use poison and venom to survive.

Guests can get creative decorating their own pumpkin tealight, or concoct their own sand art potion. While children are getting crafty, grown-ups can enjoy a seasonal pumpkin spice latte and soak up the spooky atmosphere. And anyone who comes dressed can enter the daily costume competitions for a chance to win a prize.

Alongside the Halloween fun, visitors can see more than 10,000 animals, from rhinos and elephants to penguins. Every visit to Whipsnade Zoo helps support the vital science and conservation work of ZSL, the conservation charity behind the Zoo.

The event will run from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Find out more about Boo at the Zoo and book tickets here.
