LW Tickets welcomes the new cast of Disney’s Hercules to Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Ancient Greece provides the setting for this stage production, which follows Hercules as he attempts to prove himself worthy of becoming a God. Faced with the threat of Hades, Hercules embarks on a journey of self-discovery, overcoming a series of challenges alongside well-known characters from Greek mythology. The production combines comedy, music and adventure in a retelling of the classic Disney story.
Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music by Disney Legend Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, a brand-new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, Hercules delivers a night out.
For the final run of performances, Bradley Gibson steps into the title role, bringing his vocals, stage presence and larger-than-life energy to the West End for the first time. Gibson previously originated the role of Hercules in the world premiere production in New Jersey and has also wowed Broadway audiences as Simba in The Lion King.
Gibson said, “What an honour to step back into the role of Hercules, which I had the enormous privilege of originating back home. To come full circle with this epic production and make my West End debut at the glorious Theatre Royal Drury Lane is an absolute dream come true.”
Since opening last summer at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the production has captivated audiences and earned three WhatsOnStage Award nominations, including Best New Musical. See at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London. The final performance is on 5 September.
