Mountain Goat has launched its new multilingual audio guide following a successful trial throughout summer 2026, making its tours more accessible and engaging for visitors from around the world.
The new Mountain Goat Multilingual Audio Guide has been designed to enhance the journey for guests travelling on Mountain Goat tours, bringing the landscapes, history, culture and stories of the Lake District, Yorkshire, North Wales and beyond to life as they travel.
Available as a companion to Mountain Goat’s expert driver-guides, the app provides GPS-triggered commentary, local stories, and cultural context at key points throughout the journey. Rather than replacing the personal experience provided by the company’s knowledgeable driver-guides, the technology adds another layer of discovery for passengers.

Following its successful summer trial, the Mountain Goat app will now be available to every customer across all the Mountain Goat scheduled tours. Commentary is available in English plus seven additional languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Portuguese, allowing more international visitors to fully engage with the destinations and stories encountered during their tour.
Guests can download the free Mountain Goat app before their tour, bring their own headphones and listen to commentary throughout their journey in their own language. GPS technology allows relevant stories and information to play automatically as the vehicle travels through the UK’s landscapes.
The introduction of multilingual audio commentary forms part of Mountain Goat’s continued commitment to improving the visitor experience and making its tours more accessible to an increasingly international audience, while maintaining the personal, small-group experience for which the company is known.
