A team of travel experts have pledged to radicalise the UK tourism market and help kickstart the industry’s COVID-19 recovery with a new range of experience-led products this summer.

Leisure experience operator Imagine Experiences Ltd is carving out a new corner of the domestic travel and tourism market in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, offering culture-rich and sociable experiences in some of the country’s most sought-after places.

Promising affordable pricing and ‘experience over exclusion’, Imagine Experiences has launched a collection of carefully curated, new-to-market products featuring everything from high adrenaline spy missions to sensory foodie experiences and musical pilgrimages, allowing people to explore British cultural hotspots like never before, and in assured safety.

Co-founder Ana Araque said, “Simply put – the world has changed, and our industry has to change with it. We’ve spent years entertaining customers and working with operators around the world, and one thing was very clear to us even before the pandemic took hold: people don’t want to ‘tour’ places anymore, they want to ‘experience’ them.

“There is ample research showing that people want to talk as much about what they did as what they saw. It’s not enough to simply give people the same old group activity in the digital age, and especially not when they’ve just spent weeks dreaming of their perfect day out or next adventure with their loved ones.

“And as people remain sensibly sensitive about travelling to popular locations, due to the lack of control over their travel and personal space when they arrive, the demand for carefully-curated, exclusive small group products will only increase.

“Thanks to our outstanding network of travel and leisure contracts, suppliers and innovators, we are already in a position to offer safe yet exhilarating experiences for small groups of friends to some of the most exciting places in Britain, and ultimately across Europe.”

Imagine is taking the unique step of consolidating a wide range of existing activities with specially created brand new immersive experiences, resulting in a curated collection of products for small groups. Their aim is to provide remarkable, surprising experiences in a post-COVID world without the luxury price tag.

Approximately 20 new Signature Imagine products are ready to book, along with a selection of Imagine Collection experiences that have been refined and heightened exclusively for their clients. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in thrilling espionage adventures, the sensory East End, sex scandals of the 18th century and the forgotten stories of London’s taverns.

The team has also been working with Tourism South East and Visit Kent to engage with their attraction and hospitality members on an advisory basis and helping them to tweak their business models in light of changes and new demands on the travel market.

All of the experiences work within Government guidelines to ensure participants’ safety, with measures including providing appropriate protection equipment such as face masks and hand sanitisers. Guests can also enjoy unrivalled, exclusive access to popular locations, minimising contact with people outside their group.

The team will continue to adapt products to incorporate the latest trends in their portfolio of products while allowing guests to support independent suppliers, producers and retailers. Imagine is also committed to supporting the country’s local champions and is in the final stages of developing a monthly gift programme for community groups and children’s charities.

Ana Araque continued, “We will never forget the impact of COVID-19, but we want to help people start making new, happy memories with the people they love now. We are giving people control back over their adventures, and the ability to realise the dreams they made during these unsettled times. Whatever you thin is impossible, we will make possible for you.”
