Sell Out Highland tour to operate year round

Highland Experience Tours has announced that their four day Skye, Glenfinnan & The Highlands tour will now operate all year round. Guest can experience misty autumn glens, golden winter sunsets over Skye, and quieter roads perfect for wandering, all without losing the epic highlights that made the tour famous.

The tour begins in Edinburgh and winds northwest through Loch Lomond & The Trossachs, moving into the dramatic amphitheatre of Glen Coe and pauses beneath the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct. Guests will see Loch Ness’s mysterious surface, encounter the fairytale presence of Eilean Donan Castle, explore the Isle of Skye from colourful Portree to the island’s wild cliffs and ancient stone. The final day brings guests past Inverness through the Cairngorm fringes, with the option to sample a dram at Blair Athol Distillery before returning to Edinburgh.

From April to mid-October guests can enjoy a ride on the legendary Jacobite Steam Train as part of their  journey. From mid-October to March, the train is on its seasonal pause but the experience remains,  following the Jacobite’s scenic route by road to take in the same unmissable views of Glenfinnan Viaduct,  Loch Shiel, and the surrounding Highland sweep.

Tour highlights include:

  • Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
  • Glen Coe’s dramatic glens
  • Glenfinnan Viaduct and Loch Shiel (ride the steam train Apr–mid-October; viewpoint stops mid Oct–Mar)
  • Fort Augustus and the shores of Loch Ness
  • Eilean Donan Castle
  • Isle of Skye: Kilt Rock, Cuillin views and Portree harbour
  • Inverness, Pitlochry and a distillery stop at Blair Athol
