The Royal Yacht Britannia is hosting an evening to mark 100 years since the birth of Queen Elizabeth II. This Dinner event will celebrate the legacy of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.
There will be a red carpet arrival and a drinks reception in the State Drawing Room where Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip once entertained some of the world’s most influential people. Canapés created in the original Royal Galleys, served by butlers, will be paired with the award-winning Gusbourne English sparkling wine.
Royal Yachtsmen, known as ‘Yotties’, were hand‑picked Royal Navy sailors who served aboard Britannia throughout her years of Royal service (1953–1997). From Royal Stewards to Engineers, several former Yotties will be joining to entertain guests with their stories and offer an insight into her life on board Britannia. Guests can enjoy highlights tour of Britannia with dedicated guides, accompanied by the Yotties, who will take guests behind the ropes and share stories.
A ceremonial entrance into the State Dining Room will mark the start of dinner. A five-course dinner, created by former royal Chef Lional Mann with over 20 years of service in Royal Kitchens, working alongside Britannia’s own chefs to shape a menu and wines inspired by the favourites of Queen Elizabeth II herself.
Over dessert and coffee, William French, former private butler to Queen Elizabeth II, will share his experiences of working aboard on the ship. After dinner, guests can enjoy Rat Pack classics on the ship’s Royal Deck, with dancing and cocktails.
