Vintage Trains, the only 21st century charitably controlled train operating company running express steam trains on the main line, has appointed Kim Hallett of Kim Hallett Consulting to manage their marketing, groups and travel trade strategy for the UK and inbound markets.

Despite the challenges of the last two years, Vintage Trains are looking to the future with ambitious plans to run their flagship service, ‘The Shakespeare Express’ more frequently between Birmingham and Stratford. This experience includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea catering options, with additional Summer Explorer excursions for both groups and individuals.

Kim Hallett said, “It is an exciting time to be joining the team at Vintage Trains and at such a key stage of the tourism industry’s post-pandemic recovery. Vintage Trains have such a great product with enormous potential, appealing in so many markets and the team are keen to develop opportunities for further growth. I am looking forward to introducing my groups and travel trade contacts to Vintage Trains and to working with colleagues in the sector to support them with their groups and travel trade strategy.”

Michael Whitehouse, Chairman of Vintage Trains commented, “Vintage Trains is ideally placed to offer exciting experiences on our authentic express steam trains with original Pullman restaurant cars. We operate in Shakespeare’s County on the former Great Western Railway main line connecting Birmingham and Stratford Upon Avon.  We also seek to develop our Warner Brothers’ franchise of The Polar Express Train Ride at Christmas, running out of Birmingham’s city centre Moor Street Station.”
