Kent has been named Best UK Destination for Groups at the 2019 Group Travel Awards.
The awards celebrate a wide range of businesses and destinations across the tourism industry, with winners voted for by readers of GTO magazine and industry newsletter Group Travel Grapevine. Also nominated in the Best UK Destination for Groups category were Bournemouth, Canterbury, Isle of Wight, Liverpool, London and Manchester, with Bristol taking the runner-up position and Kent winning the award.
Visit Kent’s Destination Manager (Partnerships & Travel Trade) Alanna Kite said, “We are absolutely thrilled that the readers for GTO Magazine have voted for our wonderful county and the experiences it can offer. This award is testament to the amazing attractions, accommodation and destinations that welcome thousands of groups of all ages and sizes throughout the year, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their continued support.
“We look forward to inspiring many more domestic and international groups to visit the Garden of England in the future, and having the chance to showcase our top-quality tourism offer throughout the county – all just a stone’s throw from London and the Continent.”
Visit Kent is set to have a busy year of activity ahead and has recently launched their brand Summer in Kent campaign aimed at growing awareness of what the county has to offer using video and other digital assets to incorporate greater levels of personalisation in line with visitor trends.
