The National Gallery is looking for a new Travel Trade Sales Manager to join the team. The candidate will be working closely with the Head of Hospitality and Events in developing and delivering a travel trade strategy to increase visitor numbers and generate additional income for the National Gallery Company year on year.
Key activities include:
- Creating a commercially focused sales strategy, working to KPI’s, which feeds into the sales the overall strategy for the organisation
- Driving footfall to the National Gallery during the off-peak periods through travel trade partnerships
- Building and maintaining a portfolio of partner accounts to encourage sales to the National Gallery
- Hosting travel trade familiarisation trips at The National Gallery to educate and showcase the product. In addition, provide partners with training on our product by hosting presentations and keeping them informed on all recent activity
- Attending all relevant trade shows, workshops and networking opportunities to build a pipeline of opportunities, generating new leads and raising the visibility of The National Gallery
- Representing the National Gallery at domestic and overseas key trade shows such as – World Travel Market, Explore GB, British and Ireland Marketplace (BIM) and UKinbound Convention
- Identifying gaps in the market for new products and opportunities
- Working closely with internal departments to set up infrastructure and ensure the smooth running of in-house processes related to travel trade
- Engaging operational teams with the development of products and promotions for event sales and special occasions such as Easter, Christmas and Mother’s Day
- Undertaking research to ensure pricing and product is in line with market expectations
The ideal candidate will:
- Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to successfully work to deadlines
- Possess strong multi-tasking skills and prioritisation ability
- Be an effective team player with a positive attitude, highly motivated and passionate with a commercial focus
- Have extensive experience in a similar role with experience of working specifically within the travel trade sector
- Have previous experience in developing and delivering against an annual travel trade sales plan
- Have established contacts and knowledge of sales and marketing principles within travel trade industry
- Have experience of working with online ticketing systems
- Have proven experience of preparing and presenting Comprehensive reporting on all aspects of a complex sales operation to senior management level
