The Old Royal Naval College is looking to appoint a new Box Office Coordinator to join their Visitor Experience Team. The Box Office Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the ticketing operations across the Old Royal Naval College website. This role owns the management of the ticketing software, works closely with other members of the team to ensure all of the ticket holders receive an excellent experience through all of their interaction with the team, and is responsible for ensuring all events, ticket packages, and new products are set-up in a timely and efficient manner.
Key activities include:
- Being the first point of contact for any group enquiries, or other ticketing bookings via phone, email, or in-person
- Answering enquiries from potential and existing customers in a timely and positive manner
- Making and amending bookings via the ticketing system
- Liaising with Visitor Experience staff, software suppliers, and the IT & Compliance Manager to troubleshoot issues with the ticketing system and ensuring issues are resolved promptly
- Coordinating the VEAs to ensure smooth ticket selling processes are achieve across the website
- Working closely with the Travel Trade Executive to facilitate trade offers and enquires
- Generating and analysing bookings and sales reports for events and general ticket sales
- Ensuring ticketing terms and conditions are kept up to date, and adhered to at all times
- Staying updated on industry trends and best practise in ticketing operations to ensure the company maintains a high level of service and performance
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by Line Manager
The ideal candidate will:
- Have prior experience working with ticketing platform or similar booking software
- Have the ability to learn software systems and processes quickly
- Possess excellent customer service skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively over the phone, email and in-person
- Have an understanding of ticketing operations and best practice at a visitor attraction, museum, theatre, or similar cultural destination
- Have enthusiasm for promoting and selling a heritage attraction
- Be proactive in taking new responsibilities and seeks out opportunities to learn new skills
- Have the ability to analyse data and draw conclusions to inform future activity
